Add New Petition
The ‘Add New Petition’ feature in Campaign Management module of Retention CRM allows Nonprofits, Chambers of Commerce and Associations to create online petitions to gather support for a cause or issue relevant to their organization.
General Functionality of ‘Add New Petition’ Feature
Here’s a breakdown of the options/fields available in this feature.
General Options:
- Petition Title:* A clear and concise title that captures the essence of your petition (e.g., “Support Safe Staffing Ratios in Hospitals”).
- Introduction: A detailed explanation of the issue, why it matters, and the desired outcome (e.g., outlining the dangers of nurse understaffing and urging legislators to enact safe staffing laws).
- Campaign: (Optional) Link the petition to a broader campaign for better visibility and organization within Retention CRM.
- Contact Profile:* Select the profile containing information you want to collect from petition signers. This typically includes name, email address, and possibly affiliation (e.g., Registered Nurse). Retention CRM allows for customization of contact profiles.
- Activity Profile: (Optional) Select a profile specific to petitions, which might include additional fields like workplace or area of practice relevant to your advocacy efforts. You can create a new activity profile specific to petitions if one doesn’t already exist (Click here for new profile).
- Thank-you Page Title & Message: Customize the title and message displayed to users after signing the petition. Express gratitude and provide further information or calls to action.
- Bypass email confirmation: Enable this option to allow signers to proceed without confirming their email address. This might be useful if immediate sign-ups are crucial, but be aware of potential for inauthentic submissions.
- Add Social Share Buttons: Include buttons for easy sharing on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn to expand your reach and encourage further petition signatures.
- Active? & Default?: Set the petition to “Active” to make it live for signing. Mark it “Default” if you want this to be the standard petition for your association.
Links to sign this petition: These links will be automatically generated after saving the petition. You can share these links via email, social media, or embed them on your website to collect signatures.
Using ‘Add New Petition’ Feature in Association Management
The Denver Nurses Association (DNA) wants to advocate for mandatory nurse-to-patient ratios in hospitals to ensure patient safety and better working conditions for nurses. They can utilize the ‘Add New Petition’ feature in Retention CRM as follows:
- Petition Title: “Nurses for Safe Patient Care: Support Mandatory Nurse-to-Patient Ratios!”
- Introduction: The introduction would detail the current staffing crisis, its impact on patient care and nurse burnout, and the importance of legislated safe staffing ratios. It would urge users to sign the petition in support of this cause.
- Campaign: (Optional) This could be linked to a broader campaign for better working conditions for nurses.
- Contact Profile: A profile collecting name, email address, and perhaps nurse licensure number (optional) could be used.
- Activity Profile: A new profile specific to petitions might be created to capture additional information like area of practice (e.g., emergency room, pediatrics).
- Thank You Page: The thank-you page could express gratitude for signing and encourage users to share the petition with colleagues and social networks.
- Social Share Buttons: Include buttons for easy sharing on social media platforms.
- Active? & Default? Set the petition to “Active” to collect signatures and potentially “Default” if this is the main petition for the DNA.
